Jack Cleary bagged a quick double at Dundalk tonight when producing Nevada Brave with a well timed run in the ten furlong apprentice handicap. Power Drive made a bold bid from the front in the race but started to come back to the field turning for home.
The Luke Comer-trained Nevada Brave came to lead in the centre passing the furlong pole as Chimeric also challenged.
4/1 shot Nevada Brave asserted in the closing stages to record a two length victory as Chimeric just edged the runner-up spot from the long-time leader.
Assistant trainer Jim Gorman said: "The strong pace played into our hands and he broke well today which really helped.
"He had shown promise and it just all fell (into place). He probably would get a mile and a half.
"He's (Cleary) a good lad and is with Aidan (O'Brien) now. That's his first double. I've been watching him for a while. I was keen to get him for this tonight."
