Childrens List delivers after good support A half-brother to a top-class chaser from the last decade, Schindler's Hunt, and a point-to-point winner himself, Childrens List landed a gamble on his second start over the larger obstacles when taking the Buy Your 2017 Annual Membership Beginners Chase at Punchestown. Backed in from around 5/1 earlier, into 2/1 joint favourite, Willie Mullins' winner jumped well from the front and he fended off his fellow market-leader, Edwulf (made a mistake at the fourth), by half a length. Bentelimar did best of the rest but he ended up twelve lengths back in third. Winning rider Ruby Walsh reported: "He'd a run under his belt and the step up in trip suited. He jumps well and we know he stays as he'd a couple of good runs in staying handicaps last year." Bryan Cooper was stood down for the day after getting unseated from Arkwrisht at the fifth last. The Kerryman was brought for xrays on a leg. J.S. McGarvey, rider of The Big Apple trained by C.Roche, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount burst a blood vessel, which was confirmed by the Turf Club Veterinary officer. (AM & EM)
