Danny Grant picked up a nice spare ride when replacing the sidelined Rory Cleary aboard shock winner Silldora in the five-furlong handicap at Navan.
Cleary was stood down for a week after a fall at Leopardstown the previous evening, and Grant made the most of his opportunity on the 20/1 chance which paid a massive 74/1 on the Tote.
The daughter of Clodovil made giant strides on the far rail to lead inside the final 100 yards and held on well for a head win over Patrickswell (10/1).
The well-supported 3/1 favourite More Questions travelled well to hold every chance inside the final furlong but could find no extra at the business end to finish another half-length back in third. Catwilldo (11/2) was a further length and a half away in fourth.
Winning trainer Joanna Morgan said, “You can’t beat a jockey in form on a 20/1 shot! I only ran her to teach her to settle. She runs a bit keen over seven furlongs but she is a seven furlong horse.
“She lobbed in behind them and picked up. I said to Danny to throw the reins at her and get her a bit of confidence.”
