Champagne Jury (8/1) toughed it out best in the bumper to win going away under Declan Lavery. The Night Agent belied his 28/1 odds as he was tussling away with Champagne Jury racing to the furlong pole, but he couldn't stay with the leader in the final furlong.

Champagne Jury kept on well to score with five lengths in hand. The Night Agent took second and there was a whopping 31-length gap back to Jericho Du Fenoir (13/2) with the field finishing tired on the attritional ground.

Gavin Cromwell said: “He’s a fine big horse and got through that ground well. He looks a big chaser in the making.

“We don’t have him that long, about six or eight weeks, and he should progress again.

“I’m not sure what we’ll do with him now, and going for a maiden hurdle might not be the worst idea as he can go chasing sooner rather than later.”

This was Champagne Jury's track debut after two runs in point-to-points for Roisin Hickey. He was last seen finishing second at Boulta in November in that discipline.

Paddy Power gave Champagne Jury a first show of 25/1 for the Champion Bumper at the Cheltenham Festival.
