Champ Keane registers Tipperary brace Second placings on Backpfeifengesicht, Easy Boy and Masucci were topped off by wins on his other two mounts as champion jockey Colin Keane brought up a Tipperary double in the concluding Irish Stallion Farms EBF (Fillies) Handicap on Check Your Pockets (15/8 favourite). Keane won the 45 to 65 handicap earlier for Ado McGuinness on Oor Jock, but it was for John Kiely that he took the reins aboard Check Your Pockets. Ronan Whelan, bidding for a double of his own, got closest on Nivvo, but Check Your Pockets was convincingly strongest 'at the death,' prevailing by three and a half lengths. "She's a nice filly and we've always liked her. She ran well at the Curragh, so I was hoping she would run well again," said Kiely. "She is entered again at the weekend but won't run as she's sweated up a lot and is dehydrated. There might be a race in Killarney for her. "Colin gave her a good confident ride." (AM & EM)
