Ceile gets off the mark in finale Tri Na Ceile continued her progression when landing the concluding fillies maiden at Killarney this evening. Fran Berry settled his mount behind the leaders in the early stages before moving up to track leader Papaya in the back straight. The 13/8 favourite took over from the front-runner passing the three furlong pole and stuck on well in the closing stages when asked for an effort. The Jessica Harrington trained daughter of Galileo pulled away inside the final furlong for a three-and-a-quarter length success over Alkali. The JP McManus-owned winner had produced a better effort at Galway last time when chasing home Exotic and was stepping forward again from that run. “She stays really well and is very genuine and is only getting the hang of racing now,” said Harrington. “I was a bit worried about the ground but she flew on it and Fran couldn't pull her up afterwards. “She's improving and going the right way. She'll stay 1m4f or 1m6f and we'll find a handicap for her next.” (Additional reporting by Thomas Weekes)
