There was nobody begrudging Hurricane Cass his win in the Crowne Plaza Race & Stay Package Handicap, and it wasn't surprising to hear his jockey Wayne Lordan say afterwards: "He enjoys the surface very much, all his best runs are here."
In the fourth event on the programme at Dundalk, the victorious 100/30 favourite, from the Tommy Stack yard, eventually ran out a convincing two and a quarter length winner from Secret Wizard
"He ran well in a competitive handicap here the last day and dropping back to a mile wasn’t an issue," added Lordan.
"He picked up well. A mile to a mile-and-a-quarter is grand for him."
