Casbah Rock recorded his third handicap win this season when landing a gamble under Johnny Murtagh in the ten furlong Trim Handicap.
Available at 4/1 this morning before being supported right down to 6/4 favourite at the off, the Ger Lyons-trained gelding made most and kept on well under pressure to beat Il Boro (5/2) by a length and a quarter.
The five-year-old was making a quick reappearance after filling the runner-up spot at Dundalk on Friday evening.
Lyons said: “The owner Sean Jones has been very patient as this horse has had various issues, and it's very rare that I'd have a horse of that age in the stable. He was bought from Aidan O'Brien's stud as a yearling, and is growing into himself now. He gets a mile and a half but loves a mile and a quarter, and is a hardy horse. That's the second time this year he's run twice within 48 hours.”
