Carry Each Other proved game in front as he plugged on in the closing stages to land the 3m1f handicap chase at Gowran this afternoon, giving trainer Mouse Morris and owners Gigginstown House Stud a double in the process.
Kevin Sexton bounced the 5/2 favourite out in front from the start and found a willing partner in the closing stages. Cross To Boston who had pressed throughout, got to the front briefly before the turn but couldn't sustain his effort. Witness Of Fashion tried to throw down a challenge in the closing stages but failed to peg back the winner, who went on to score by five-and-a-half lengths.
Carry Each Other was not winning out of turn having been placed on his previous two outings.
“He jumped well and Kevin gave him a great ride. We might look for another long distance handicap,” said Morris afterwards.
The trainer had also saddled a winner for the owners in the first when Allied Victory scored.
