Caroline Street gives O'Brien and Crosse quick double Caroline Street gave Joseph O'Brien and Shane Crosse a double on the card when making a winning racecourse debut in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden at Leopardstown. Successful earlier in the evening with Montesilvano, Crosse was again towards the head of affairs, as he tracked leader Amusement in the early stages of the race. His mount, who had recently finished second in a barrier trial at Dundalk, put that experience to good use as she picked off her rival in the straight and kept on strongly to win nicely. Amusement stayed on for second, with Library back the third. The latter filly was the hard luck story of the race, as she went for a daring run up the inside only for the door to be shut. “She's a nice filly and she had a lovely trial. She's won really well,” said O'Brien. “She was green and slowly away at Dundalk but we trialled her over six just to sharpen her a little bit. I thought today she broke much better and she travelled really sweetly through the race. “She was very impressive. She got a little unbalanced but once she hit top gear she ran through the line very well. “She'll be jumping into a stakes race and I'd say she'll have no problem coming back to seven.” When asked if the Debutante Stakes could be a possible target he added:- “You'd have to look at those kinds of races. All those fillies race between seven and a mile.” Additional reporting by Gary Carson
