Cappadocia gains a 5th Dundalk win Narrowly denied in the previous heat on his mother Kathleen’s Oneiroi, Ronan Whelan landed division one of the Carnbeg Hotel & Spa Handicap at Dundalk on Cappadocia. Top-weight Cappadocia, a 10/1 shot coming off 93 day break, held off well-backed favourite Mulzamm (7/2 into 2/1) by a neck. It was three parts of a length then to Arlecchino’s Rock in third. “He's a right horse. That's his first time winning here over seven. Ronan gets on brilliant with him,” said winning trainer Mark Fahey. “It probably helped today that they didn't go hard over seven. He really is a six furlong horse. “He loves it here and we'll keep him going.” (GC & EM)
