Gavin Cromwell has his horses in rare old order, including an impressive point-to-point winning mare last Sunday, and he was at the number one berth again following the victory of Cristy's Call in the concluding www.dundalkstadium.com Handicap.
Ronan Whelan brought the chestnut through, with a power-packed late surge, to add to his win here achieved last time, on February 27th.
When Danny Mullins, back from Cheltenham, where he finished second on Milsean, was battling it out up front on Bomber Jackson at the business end, Whelan was beginning to get a tune out of 8/1 shot, Cristy's Call, in mid-division.
In the end Cristy's Call got up by a neck.
"He gave him a great ride and he got a lovely run through. It's not easy from that draw (stall ten). He loves it around here and he'll be back again," commented Cromwell. (AM & EM)
