Call It Magic confirmed the promise of his point-to-point victory at Oldtown when powering home in the bumper at Cork.
This trip of two miles three wasn't going to hinder this five-year-old and he impressed by hacking up by seven and a half lengths with Katie Walsh doing the steering.
The 11/8 favourite beat Una's Pleasure into second. She was backed from 20/1 to 11/1 on her first racecourse appearance for John Walsh. Meme's Horse at 6/4, was a further eight lengths away in third.
"After he won his point to point, there were offers in for him but I desperately tried to keep him in the yard and Zorka Wentworth, who also owns Baie Des Iles with me, bought him and I'm delighted to have him stay in the yard," handler Ross O'Sullivan said.
"He had been working and won his point to point very well and while he isn't really a bumper type and I had been tempted to go jumping, decided to keep his novice hurdle status for next season.
"He has to step up and up but he gallops and jumps and could be a nice novice hurdler next season."
