Gordon Elliott and Jack Kennedy doubled up at Tramore through 11/8 favourite C'est Quelqu'un however, that only tells half the story.
This was an incident-packed handicap chase over the extended 2m5f in which only seven of the 15 horses finished. General Ryan outran his 25/1 odds as he led narrowly from C'est Quelqu'un on the run to the penultimate fence with Pepperocco beginning to struggle in third.
C'est Quelqu'un grabbed a slight lead there from General Ryan and Kennedy asked him to go and win his race.
There was very nearly final-fence drama as C'est Quelqu'un got the last all wrong and almost capsized. General Ryan also blundered, though, and couldn't take full advantage.
Jack Kennedy lost his irons on the leader, but the short run-in enabled him to boot C'est Quelqu'un home by a length and a-quarter. Chelseas Friend plodded on for third at 18/1, some 17 lengths adrift.
Elliott said: "Jim and Noeline Power are from Tramore and are great supporters of the yard, so it's great to get a winner for them here.
"We bought this horse out of Sean Curran's yard and he has run well every day since we got him.
"He is lowly rated and will be kept going in races like this. Jack did well to stay on him at the last. Thank God it was Tramore fences and not big ones like at Fairyhouse."
Elliott and Kennedy also teamed up with a favourite in race one, Salvador Ziggy (4/7).
