Charles Byrnes made the journey from Limerick worthwhile when winning The Bellewstown Golfcourse Handicap Hurdle with 4/1 favourite Third Level Tom under Davy Russell in the colours of the Secret Seven Syndicate.
Winning trainer Byrnes said afterwards, “That was badly wanted! The horse deserved to win today. Davy walked the track and he thought the ground on the outside was better and that made a fierce difference. We will probably go back to chasing now with him.”
