Byrnes. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned: M.M. McDonogh stated that he was instructed to drop his mount in, get him jumping and do the best he could, he further added that his mount jumped novicey early on before getting into a nice rhythm on the final circuit where his mount was outpaced when the leaders quickened up the pace on approach to the straight. He also added that his mount jumped right over the last two fences and stayed on one-paced to the line. C.Byrnes stated that he was very happy with the ride and the performance of his charge considering it was his first run over fences, he also added that his charge has jumped right on some of his previous runs and hadn't been getting home. The Raceday Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who stated that Grozni was found to be post race normal. Samples were taken for analysis. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards noted the explanations offered but advised M.M. McDonagh to ride with more vigour in future.
