Bucanero Fuerte is back in training with Adrian Murray after plans for a career at stud were shelved due to fertility issues.

“He’s back about four weeks. It’s disappointing from a breeding point of view but exciting from a racing point of view to have him back,” said Murray.

The son of Wootton Basset was a smart juvenile beating Porta Fortuna by four lengths in the Group 1 Keeneland Phoenix Stakes and he also landed the Group 2 Gain Railway Stakes at the Curragh.

The AMO Racing-owned four-year-old also won the Group 3 Goffs Lacken Stakes at Naas in a curtailed campaign last year.

“It’s too early yet to be planning where he’ll run but maybe in six or eight weeks down the road,” added Murray.
