Tom Foley is hoping Golanbrook can claim a deserved victory over fences in the Kilsheelan Beginners Chase at Clonmel this afternoon.
The seven-year-old has performed with credit in some hot contests this season behind the likes of Defy Logic and Road To Riches.
The Golan gelding, three-times a winner over timber, looks to be taking a drop in class in the 2m2f contest and Foley is hopeful that he can get his head in front now.
"We're quite happy with him and we're hoping for the best. He has a bit of a mind of his own and it depends what humour he is in," said the Bagenalstown handler.
"He's always been unfortunate in that he's met good horses. He's never run in a bad race over fences.
"Going by the horses that he has taken on in his beginners chases you would say this wouldn't be as strong a race.
"He won't mind the ground - he seems to go on anything."
Henry de Bromhead is hoping for improvement from Worldor who shaped with promise on his chase debut at Navan last month.
The French-bred, who won twice over hurdles last season, was making his first start for his new yard when fifth behind The Shepherd King in a hot looking contest.
"He's a nice horse and is in good form," said de Bromhead.
"He had his first run over fences the other day and hopefully should improve from that - we'll see how he goes.
"Good ground will be fine for him, hopefully it is just good."
Willie Mullins also runs an interesting sort in Kalmann whose sole run for the champion trainer came when he finished in mid-division in the Fred Winter at Cheltenham last March.
