Brooch a name to remember Dermot Weld sent out his fifth winner of the week at Galway when Brooch (4/9) made a most pleasing first start to take the Tote Return All Profits To Irish Racing Maiden. Pat Smullen let the Juddmonte filly take charge at the two furlong pole and the American-bred powered clear to triumph by nine and a half lengths from second favourite Duchess Andorra. "She's a lovely filly and she did it very, very well. She's a smashing filly. "She's big and raw and green. She's been a slow learner but patience pays dividends. "I think she'll make into a mile and a quarter filly in time – she won't do a lot of racing this year and we'll see if we can get her a bit of black-type," stated Weld. (AM & EM)
