Ben Dalton secured his double at Kilbeggan with a patient ride on Prince Of Leisure who took the three mile handicap chase at 7/1.
The veteran 12-year-old gelding had a second and third to his name over two miles four and two miles six at Tipperary and Galway respectively in the last month.
Three miles suited him down to a tee here. His only other win came over three miles in a chase at Down Royal in March 2008.
He led before three out and jumped the last clear to come in a length and a half in front of Ballygill Gale (9/1) with Urban Gale in third at 14/1.
Successful trainer David Broad said: “He was a 120 horse in his day but he has been plagued with injuries.
“Fair play to the owners (Home & Dry Syndicate) for sticking with him. They’re the first owners I had.
“They also own Prince Of Pleasure who won 10 races. Hopefully this will pay for another horse! They stuck with me through thick and thin.”
Ben Dalton leaves for Australia tomorrow to take part in the jump jockeys challenge.
