Gabriella Adela Hill bounced out in front on the Dawn Approach gelding, who was pressed by Far Above Dream for most of the six-furlong trip.

After seeing off that rival passing the furlong pole Bolger’s charge had enough up his sleeve late on to hold the late charge of 6/4 favourite Mathan by a neck.

The winner had run twice last season, finishing fourth behind the smart Green Impact when last seen at Leopardstown in late July.

Bolger said:- “His last run wasn’t too bad, although I thought six furlongs might be a little short for him.

“He’s fairly straight forward, a suitable apprentice ride especially one claiming 10lb. She did it well.”
