Bluesea's daughter delights Motherway with maiden win A daughter of 2010 Irish Grand National heroine Bluesea Cracker, J P McManus home-bred Uhavemeinstitches took the Earl Of Harrington Mares Maiden Hurdle at Limerick for the County Cork stable of James Motherway. One of the market-leaders at 7/2, Uhavemeinstitches would have always had her backers pretty happy, with a tracked the leaders approach, as opposed to those invested in favourite, Barnahash Primrose (9th) - never particularly satisfied after a lost ground start and always on the back-foot effort. In the end the Simon Torrens-partnered winner defeated Workinonadream by a length and a half. “She’s a lovely filly and we’ve always liked her since day one and it’s great to get a winner for JP at Christmas," said Motherway. “She was jumping so well she was even jumping into the back of a few of them. “Simon said it was straight forward. She ran around a bit down the home straight, had a little look about when she hit the front, but she was good over the last two. “She ran here in the spring, but she was only a frame and has really filled out over the summer in Martinstown. I was really pleased when she came back in the autumn and knew I had a mare to train. “With her pedigree you would say stamina is going to be her forte down the line. “Bluesea Cracker is still with us and is in the stable just across the yard from this filly. She is rising 24 and is still fit and healthy. It’s great to see her daughter coming through now.” The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Twentyfourcarrot (GB), trained by Declan Queally, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to have blood at both nostrils post race. S. Fitzgerald, rider of Twentyfourcarrot (GB), trained by Declan Queally, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount burst a blood vessel. (AM & EM)
