Bluesbreaker pips Beauty on line The five-furlong handicap on the card produced another tight finish as Bluesbreaker got up on the line to record a narrow victory. There were plenty prominent in the early stages of the contest but Shanghai Beauty had a narrow lead on the rail side after a couple of furlongs. Bluesbreaker had been on her tail throughout and tried hard to peg back the leader inside the final furlong. The Damian English-trained gelding just found enough in the closing stages to get up on the line for a nose success under Rory Cleary at odds of 16/1. It was a third win of the year for the gelding who had scored twice on testing ground towards the start of the season. "I thought he ran a blinder at Naas the last day where the ground was a bit quick. When the ground was starting to dry out this week I was getting a bit worried but Rory said he'd handle it okay,” said English. "He's a big horse and we need to keep running him or he'll put on weight. Hopefully we can make hay on softer ground at the end of the season." (Quotes by Alan Magee)
