The John Woods-trained gelding won both on the Flat and over hurdles earlier this year, and returned to form here at the rewarding odds of 16/1. Matty Bowes sent him on past the front-running Is Herself About after the second last, and he kept on really well on the run-in. The seven-year-old gelding had nearly five lengths to spare over the long-time leader at the line, with Lonan a length and a half further back in third. Woods said, “He won well. I thought the ground was still fast enough for him. “We'll keep him going and look for races from two miles to two-and-a-half.” (GC & AM)
