Willie Mullins made it three on the afternoon when Seabank Bistro made a winning debut in the concluding bumper at Naas this afternoon.
The Walk In The Park gelding went to post a 5/4 shot on his racecourse bow with Santonito heading the market at 10/11 favourite.
As the market suggested it turned into a two horse race in the closing stages. Santonito had hit the front two-and-a-half furlongs out but looked a sitting duck as Seabank Bistro soon cruised upsides.
Patrick Mullins asked his mount to go on a furlong-and-a-half out and he galloped on strongly in the closing stages to post a five-length victory. There was a 28-length gap back to the third.
It was a landmark winner for the jockey, his 700th success, and a first for the trainer as he also bred the winner now owned by Jodmart Construction Ltd.
Mullins said afterwards:- “I think Patrick said that’s officially my first winner as a breeder.
“He’s a big green horse and he’s green at home. I was very impressed with that performance and he can go wherever he wants after that.
“I’d imagine he’ll get a ticket for March in Cheltenham.
“He’s a lovely big horse that will jump fences and is related to Killultagh Vic.”
