Big plans for Miley after Grade 3 win

John Kenny has ambitions plans for his Miley Shah who credited the trainer with a career highlight at Punchestown today, impressively winning the Grade 3 Ryan's Cleaning Events Specialists Hurdle.

Jockey Barry Geraghty sent Miley Shah straight into the lead and while untidy at the second last flight, stayed on strongly in the straight for an impressive win.

The race featured the return of 8/15 favourite and last year's high class novice Trifolium but, giving 13lbs to Miley Shah, proved no match for the winner.

Miley Shah's previous Tramore maiden hurdle win was Co Wicklow based Kenny's only other win and he later stated “today's race went to plan! We were getting 13lbs from Trifolium and while it was his first run, we were fit and ready.

“He doesn't need to make the running and he was looking around the place, so we might hold on to him the next day. We'll keep him going and he is still a novice so the Royal Bond Hurdle at Fairyhouse is an option.

He added “he'll get a few entries and will be entered in the Morgiana Hurdle - some of those Grade 1s have only three or four runners and I wouldn't be afraid to run against the likes of Hurricane Fly as there's good place money if you finish second in those big races.”
