Tom Bennett recorded his first winner this evening for his boss Dessie Hughes after Mackeys Forge took the concluding Peader Jennings Flat Race.
Bennett who is orginally from Wexford was enjoying a good few days after he recorded his first ever career win at a Point to Point on Sunday.
The seventeen year old came straight from the Apprentice school to Hughes' yard and has been there for over a year now.
Bennett produced the Mr Combustible gelding to lead from the three furlong marker and kept on well to record a four and a half length win.
Winning trainer Hughes remarked: "I only discovered at one o'clock we were getting in as he was second reserve and the box had already gone with my other runners so Martin Brassil very kindly brought him for us."
"He loved that ground and he ran a bit green up the straight but he'll learn from that."
"He is owned by the Seven to Eleven Syndicate and they bought this lad to replace their last horse Mutineer."
