Beckwith makes it two from three at Tramore Beckwith Star made it two wins from three starts at Tramore when coming with a strong charge before the last to claim the two-mile handicap hurdle this afternoon. Do The Bookies looked to have the field on the stretch going to the second last, having hit the front after the previous flight. Philip Enright was rowing along on Beckwith Star in second before the penultimate hurdle but his mount picked up well to lead approaching the final obstacle. Henry de Bromhead's charge powered home on the run-in to record a comprehensive three-and-a-quarter length victory. Breeze With Ease came through to fill the runner-up spot. The winner (backed form 8/1 into 5/1 on course) had been runner-up in a maiden hurdle here in January 2011 before scoring over fences at the venue in January of last year. “I'm delighted with that and it's great for Herb (Stanley) who has been a great supporter of ours,” said de Bromhead. “He had problems through the winter and we had to back off a bit with him but he seems to be coming back to himself now. “He's a great jumper and a nice chaser. I don't usually run horses as quick but we'll look at Fairyhouse on Tuesday for him.” 3/1 favourite Roman Numeral looked briefly like getting into contention going to the second last but couldn't pick up and finished fifth.
