Beau benefits from Sublime Mullins ride Beau Et Sublime had shown promise in both bumpers and maiden hurdles over the past 12 months, and duly justified his favourites tag in the Eurona BriskNet Maiden Hurdle at Roscommon. The French-bred gelding, available at 7/4 this morning and sent off a 5/4 chance, was confidently ridden by David Mullins whose only slight moment of anxiety came when meeting the last a bit wrong. However he was soon back on an even keel, and the Tony Martin-trained gelding headed Orion's Might on the run-in before going on to score by a comfortable two and a quarter lengths. Brave Love was a further nine and a half lengths back in third. Martin said, "He was entitled to do it on the book. He was a bit free and keen last time and we probably rode him too positively. He was always doing a bit too much. We dropped in today and David Mullins was very good on him. He took his time and used his little bit of speed to good effect. "I'd say he's one of the best young lads around. He reminds me of (Ruby) Walsh in that you tell him what you think and then let him use his own discretion." (GC & AM)
