Duquesa Beach produced a game front running performance to land the spoils in the Paulstown Handicap at Gowran Park.
Lee Smyth made the trip down from his Co. Down base worthwhile when the daughter of Epaulette secured her second career victory.
The well backed 9/4 favourite (9/2 this morning) proved a willing partner for Siobhan Rutledge as she repelled all comers up the straight in the extended nine furlong contest.
She posted a length-and-three-quarters victory over Oneiroi
Smyth said:- “The filly deserved to win, she's been very consistent. She's quite well bred.
“She's been knocking on the door the last few times. I think that extra furlong helped as it slowed down the pace in the race.
“She might head to Down Royal now, it's only ten minutes from us at home.
“She ran here before and came home strongly that day over a mile. We thought then if it had been an extra furlong she would have got there and today's race wasn't that hot.
“That's her second win now and we're well pleased with her.
"She's a nice one for the owner, David Adam, who is a great supporter of the yard. We appreciate any result we get these days. It keeps the momentum going and the horses are running well.”
