Goodnight Girl remains very much in the mix for the Group 3 Ballyogan Stakes at Naas next Sunday, despite a disappointing run in handicap company at the Curragh over the weekend.

The Sarah Lynam-trained mare was expected to put up a bold show in the 6f handicap won by Prisoners Dilemma but could never get involved and eventually finished 6th of the eight runners.

However, a quick return could still be on the cards for the seven-year-old mare, as Lynam explained; "I was thinking of running her, I'll see how she is during the week.

"I was really disappointed with her actually at the weekend. I thought she would have a winning chance, she didn't run up to her usual and I was thinking maybe the heat got to her as it was a roasting hot day.

"She just didn't seem herself in the preliminaries either.

"She seems fresh and well, I've been riding her yesterday and today. I'll keep an eye on the entry and see how it goes.

"I think he (handicapper) dropped her a couple (from 84) so she is probably on an okay handicap mark if I wanted to wait. I'm mulling it over anyway."
