The Irish Sun (Pro/Am) Flat Race saw an interesting recruit to the game after the Mags Mullins trained Backspin ran out a cosy four length winner.
John Thomas McNamara who took the riding honours sent the son of Flemensfirth to the front over a furlong out and kept on well to hold off the Tom Mullins trained Nicene Creed
A delighted Mullins said afterwards: "This horse just keeps surprising me, he does whatever we ask of him. He's a serious horse."
"We were going to run him at Gowran Park but I felt the ground was a bit rough for him so we decided to wait and come here."
"I part own this horse with P J Magnier and Mary Furlong who are great supporters of mine, so i'm delighted he won for them too."
