BOTTOM THREE OUT OF CHANDLER CHASE

There were no surprise withdrawals today at the latest forfeit stage for the Victor Chandler Chase at Ascot on Saturday January 15th.

The three bottom weights in the handicap, Dantes Cavalier, Amancio and Classy Lad, were the only defections from the original 22 entries.

The sponsors have announced that they will give a prize of £2,000 to the stable amassing the most points in the Victor Chandler Day Stable Challenge, covering the six races on the Ascot card.

Points will be awarded for runners and placed horses, while smaller stables can also earn one-off bonuses.

The bookmaking firm's chairman Victor Chandler said: "We wanted to ensure that the essential role of the stable lads and girls was not forgotten.

"There would be no racing without their hard work and dedication and they will now have a special incentive for success on our day."

Victor Chandler bet: 3-1 Nordance Prince, 7-2 Direct Route, Flagship Uberalles, 11-2 Get Real, 10-1 Aghawadda Gold, 16-1 Bar.
