Donnacha O’Brien is hoping the superbly bred Falling Snow will make her seasonal reappearance in the Athasi Stakes at the Curragh although plans are uncertain following a ‘little setback’.

The grey filly, who is by Justify and out of dual Guineas winner Winter, made a winning debut at the Curragh last August but has not been seen since.

“She had a little setback last month, not a big thing, so I’m hoping she’ll still make the Athasi Stakes (at the Curragh, May 5) but there is a chance she might not.

“We’ll feel our way with her. It’s nothing serious but just a little bit of a delay.

“I think she’s a good filly but is a big frame of a girl, so we’ll take our time and make sure we get her right.”

The form of her Curragh maiden win has worked out well as the runner-up Ballet Slippers won next time at Ascot and was subsequently Group 1 placed.
