Paul Deegan bounced Arcara out quickly after her run here on Friday night, and it paid dividends when the daughter of Arcano gained the day in the Group Discounts At Dundalk Stadium Maiden (Plus 10 Race).
In the aftermath Deegan explained: "That was great. Declan (McDonogh, successful rider) said she was still a bit green.
"The first time she was murdered and had no race and also had a rough race on her second run.
"She has always shown enough and I'm delighted with her.
"If they are good enough we don't want to leave anything behind especially the way mine have been running. They have been running well but have been second and third.
"We'll see what the handicapper does. She's out of an Observatory mare so should get better with time.
"Declan said she was still clueless in the first couple of furlongs but when she got organised she travelled sweetly. She'll probably be better over six."
Arcara was a 16/1 shot on this occasion, for owner D J Walker, and Aspar and strongly-backed odds-on chance, A Likely Story couldn't deal with her as she challenged strongly between horses inside the final furlong.
In the end Arcara had a head and a half a length in hand over Aspar and A Likely Story.
The Stewards fined T. Stack, trainer €130 for failing to inform the Registry Office in accordance with Rule 148(vi) that Aspar had been gelded.
