Arbourfield wins a 5th at Dundalk "He did it nicely but as always it's all about weight, you can't keep it up indefinitely," was Prunella Dobbs' succinct reaction to the success of her husband George's Arbourfield in the concluding Crowne Plaza Race & Stay Handicap at Dundalk. Pat Smullen did the steering on the well-backed 3/1 favourite who chased the leaders, before moving third travelling well two furlongs out. Ridden to lead a furlong and a half out, Arbourfield was clear a furlong out, staying on well in the final furlong for a length and a half win over Rosenborg Rider. "He does enjoy it here. He has won five races within twelve months. I think his first one was last May," elaborated Mrs Dobbs. "Hopefully he will be back here soon and we will run him on the grass over the summer and see how we get on. We gave him a three-week break." (MG & EM)
