I Don't Get It s recent progression has dumbfounded owner/trainer Neil McCluskey as the nine-year-old notched a third win from his last four starts today, in Limerick's Regeneron 'Science To Medicine' Handicap Hurdle.
Successful just once in his opening 49 races when achieving a ceiling rating of 93, the Stowaway gelding today followed up recent Downpatrick and Down Royal wins when making all, rated 102, to score under James O'Sullivan.
McCluskey said “I don't know but the is just a different horse this year and we don't give him much work at home.
“We've changed a few things, the meal and things but I'm not sure what it is. He is a hardy boy and a good oul' horse.
“I thought he should have won in Downpatrick the last day - he never gets passed and comes forward, but he didn't make enough use out of him.
“I put my teeth in that day but didn't tonight!”
He added “he is lowly rated over fences but we'll see how far he goes at this, although will get a few pounds for this.
“I train in Dromara, about eight miles from Downpatrick, have six horses for the track three point to pointers and three half-breds. I think this horse will win again although is a nine year old so we'll go easy on him.”
