Sun On The Run was driven out by Kevin Manning to land the spoils in the seven furlong handicap in Cork.
This was another winner for the Jim Bolger/Kevin Manning team who combined for a four-timer in Gowran Park yesterday.
Punters latched on to Sun On The Run when prices were chalked up this morning as was quickly punted from 2/1 to 13/8. However, a major on course plunge on Cash Or Casualty – 25/1 to 14/1 –saw Sun On The Run go off the 9/4 favourite.
Cash Or Casualty set out to make it a true test from the front under Rory Cleary. He was passed though by Srucahan and Sun On The Run who were locked together from a furlong and a half out.
Inside the final half furlong Manning on the outside got his mount ahead and they scored by three parts of a length. Their rival was returned at 9/2. Cash Or Casualty landed the place part of the gamble in third at 14s. He was beaten five and a quarter lengths by the winner.
This was Sun On The Run fourth career outing. He is now two from two at Cork having delivered in a six furlong maiden here in March last year. That was also on heavy ground.
