Another for Lynch as Gathering Powers home Fergal Lynch recorded his third winner since Friday, as he took the Live The Dream With The Tote 3yo Handicap aboard the Eddie Lynam trained Gathering Power. Another to have won over the course and distance last season (following on from Doonard Prince), the bay daughter of Kyllachy disappointed on her two subsequent starts. She made her seasonal debut at the Curragh recently, where she finished eleventh, just over five and a half lengths behind Srucahan (runs later in the Listed race). Backed from 12/1 to 9/1 on-course, the Sabina Power owned filly was drawn on the wide outside in the stall eleven, and she was settled towards the rear in the early stages. She was switched to the outside, and asked for her effort two furlongs out, and she improved to challenge a furlong from home, soon hitting the front and staying on well in the closing stages to score by a length and a quarter at the line. Seal Rock ran a fine race to finish second at 20/1 under Chris Hayes for Andrew Oliver, while Ask Dad (10/1) was a further head back in third under Rory Cleary for Damian English. Masai was sent off the 9/4 favourite for Aidan and Joseph O'Brien, but he could only manage fourth, a length and a quarter behind the third. Eddie Lynam said afterwards: "It is nice to see that she has trained on. They are lucky colours (also the colours of Slade Power, Sole Power).” Additional reporting by Alan Magee
