In the familiar silks of the Friends In The North Syndicate, made famous by Imperial Commander, Patrick Mullins rode out Definitive Edge in the final furlong to assert for a four and a half length win in the A.I.B Mayo Flat Race.
This well-backed son of Overbury (7/4 into 6/5) was having his fifth start in a bumper and he beat outsider Belville View in the style of a horse that will progress further. Of course Willie Mullins trains this fellow and he joins For The Staff, Dare To Doubt, Huckle Buck Shoe and Red Hot Poker as bumper winners for Closutton in the past fortnight.
