Course and distance winner Rory Anna (off the track since July) belied her market position as the outsider of the three runners in the O'Kelly Brothers Demolition & Environmental Contractors Hurdle with a convincing success under Eddie Power at Limerick.
Taking on a couple of Gigginstown House Stud-owned geldings in Big Game Hunter and Sounds Of Jupiter, John Joe Walsh's mare Rory Anna took over before two out. The odds-on favourite Big Game Hunter was struggling from as early as the fourth and it was left to Sounds Of Jupiter to fill the runner-up spot, eight lengths adrift of the winner. There was a distance back to Big Game Hunter (found to be lame afterwards).
Walsh said of Rory Anna: "She is a lucky mare. That's her second win over hurdles and she jumps well, stays well and goes on this ground. We'll go for something similar now."
