An Saighdiur off the track since June, landed a short head success in the Crowne Plaza Leading Jockey & Championship maiden at Dundalk at odds of 7/1 for trainer Andrew Slattery and jockey Declan McDonogh.
Slattery was confident of a bold show from his three-year-old gelding who had course form in the book. He said: "He went wrong in the summer and has done nothing all year. I thought he would win today though.
"Declan (McDonogh) says he will get seven furlongs. He'll go on any ground but we'll campaign him at Dundalk until December." Little Luxury in first-time blinkers, was pipped for first place at 13/2. Sovereign Secure who was backed off course from 14/1 to 10/1 finished third at 11/1.
