The Martin Brassil trained Ambobo gained compensation following his exit in the Irish Grand National recently, when winning the victorchandler.com Pat Taaffe Handicap Chase at Punchestown today.
Ridden by Niall Madden, the son of Kingmambo led from the second last fence to eventually record a length and three parts win over Vic Venturi
Afterwards Brassil reported "Ambobo looked to be getting into contention in the Irish National when exiting at the sixth last fence. It was very frustrating but we gained compensation today!"
He added "he's a classy little horse but, while he doesn't know he's small himself, carrying big weights is a problem for him. I was very happy with him coming here today."
