Allen records first track success on Darrens Hope Darrens Hope ran out an easy winner of the last at Cork, the Cork & Waterford (Mares) Point-To-Point Flat Race, providing rider Darragh Allen with his first track success. Fourth on her first two starts, the daughter of Oscar got off the mark at Ballynoe last month, and was sent off a 9/2 chance this afternoon (available at 12s this morning). Settled in second, she improved to lead from the three furlong pole, and soon stretched clear, going on to score easily by ten lengths. Celine Soprano (20/1) finished second, while the 3/1 favourite Dime A Dozen was a further four and three parts of a length back in third. Robert Murphy, from Cappoquin in Co Waterford, trains the winner, and he said afterwards: "Her full-sister (Darrens Diamond) ran yesterday in the maiden hurdle and she was only beaten half a length and we were expecting a run out of this one today. "We worked the two of them together and we only have the two. She won't be sold but I don't know where we'll run her next!" Additional reporting by Thomas Weekes
