Recent impressive Leopardstown maiden winner Alakazi will put his credentials to the test when stepping up into Listed class in the Tetrarch Stakes on his next run.

A promising seventh on his racecourse debut at the Foxrock track last October, the Johnny Murtagh trained colt returned to the County Dublin venue to open his account earlier this month.

Leading over a furlong out, the Aga Khan owned three-year-old stretched right away to score by seven-and-a-half lengths.

Johnny Murtagh said: "Alakazi came out of his race well, is going well and will go for the Tetrarch Stakes. It looks like it will be a good race but that is the next logical step for him.

"There will be no hiding places in the Tetrarch so we'll see how good he is after that."
