Aerclub headed for stakes company after latest Dundalk win Two races to date have resulted in a brace of wins for Aerclub over a mile at Dundalk. The latest of these came today in the Love Your Mum At The Races Weekend Median Auction Race. Again Henry de Bromhead employed the services of Wayne Lordan for the spin on the Stephen McCarthy owned son of Charm Spirit. The three-year-old was a 20/1 shot when winning here as a juvenile in November, but he was 11/8 market-leader this time. Two and three parts of a length split Aerclub and runner-up Point Reyes at the line, after the victor took over going best from over a furlong out in the small field. He was pushed clear in the closing stages for an easy win. “He's a nice horse. Henry liked him the first day he ran and he won well,” said Lordan. “He felt like he's after improving since then. He's a fine big horse, he went to the line well and he's very likeable. “I think he could be a stakes horse. He'd give you all the vibes that he's going that way. “I thought it was a good performance and you'd be happy with him. “After we went a furlong I thought the race steadied, he has a big huge stride on him and is an easy traveller so that's maybe why he got keen. In a better race you could ride him whatever way you'd like.” The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Line Judge (GB), trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be coughing post race.
