Action scores for Lordan & Wachman Time For Action kept on best in the closing stages to take the South Tipperary Tourism Fundraiser Handicap, winning in good style under Wayne Lordan for David Wachman. The chestnut three-year-old son of Dylan Thomas won his maiden on his second start at Dundalk in April, but he subsequently disappointed in a handicap (on soft ground) at Roscommon in June. He bounced back to form to finish third to Jazz Girl in the Kingdom Gold Cup at Killarney last month, and he was sent off a 4/1 chance this afternoon. As they turned for home, the winner was being angled wide to come with his challenge, and under a strong Lordan drive he hit the front a furlong out, keeping on well from there to score by a length and three parts. Tri Na Ceile, who was carrying nearly a stone less than the winner, finished a gallant second under Fran Berry for Jessica Harrington at 10/1, while Heirloom (3/1 favourite) was half a length back in third for Aidan and Joseph O’Brien. David Wachman said afterwards: "He was to run in Doncaster last week but the ground went too soft. "He stays well and we will probably put him away now for next year."
