“You can't beat a bit of luck!” was how winning trainer John Joe Walsh described Jack Absolute s sixth course win at Limerick today, landing the featured Grade B Tim Duggan Memorial Handicap Steeplechase following the final fence fall of leader Harpsy Cord
Harpsy Cord, under Keith Donoghue, held a lead of four lengths when falling at the final fence, leaving Jack Absolute in front. On the run-in jockey Brian O'Connell kept Jack Absolute going to eventually hold off Tullintain by a length and a quarter.
Afterwards a delighted Walsh stated “that's his eight win and his sixth around here so it's definitely a case of horses for courses!
“I told Brian (O'Connell) 'don't you ever give up and if you're in within shouting distance at the top the hill to keep him going at all costs!' Today was the plan and you can't beat a bit of luck!”
