Cheltenham Bumper winner A Dream To Share has encountered a training setback which will rule J.P. McManus' unbeaten gelding out until the new year.
Bred by TV pundit Brian Gleeson's Brucetown Farms Ltd and sold to McManus in late-February, the five-year-old recorded Grade 1 wins at Cheltenham and Punchestown along with a Dublin Racing Festival Grade 2 success last season.
Ridden in bumpers by Gleeson's son John Gleeson and trained by John Kiely — whose license has since joined with nephew Tommy Kiely, the Muhaarar-gelding was declared for his Punchestown hurdling debut on October 11, only to be withdrawn due to a stone bruise.
McManus' racing manager Frank Berry reports “A Dream To Share has had a hiccup and will be on the easy list until Christmas.
“It was originally thought the issue was with his foot but it turns out his injury is higher up in his hind leg. It means he will be on the easy list for now but we're hoping to have him back in the new year."
A Dream To Share is currently 4/1 favourite for March's Supreme Novices Hurdle at Cheltenham.
