95/1 Dundalk double for Lynam and Orr Oisin Orr (39) is just one off Andrew Slattery (40) in the race to be champion apprentice for 2019 after doubling up with Eddie Lynam in the finale at Dundalk on Benedict Roezl. The BetVictor Proudly Supporting Irish Racing Maiden saw second time out Benedict Roezl reverse Fairyhouse form with favourite Fujaira King from 25 days back. Adding to the gains of the Garrettstown House team earlier with Masalai, Benedict Roezel benefitted from a strong drive from 2017 champion apprentice Orr. There was half a length between Benedict Roezl and Fujaira King with a length and three parts to Eastern Star in third. “He's had more setbacks than you could ever dream a horse could have,” said Lynam. “He's finally come right and he did it well, I liked his attitude. I don't know how much of a race it was but he battled well and I'm delighted to get a win with him. “We've had to be patient as he's a four-year-old. “That surface is easier than the first day away on grass in very soft ground at Fairyhouse. There might be a bit more fun with him.” R.P. Whelan, rider of Shawaf (GB) trained by Damian Joseph English, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung up the straight. A.J. Slattery, rider of Gregorio Park (GB) trained by Andrew Slattery, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was slowly away. (GC & EM)
